Dina BENSAÏD
MOROCCO
Dina Bensaïd began her career as a concert pianist. She graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where she studied with Jacques Rouvier and Frank Braley.
Her pianistic career has led her to perform as a soloist in major European venues such as the Philharmonie de Paris and London’s Victoria Hall, and to collaborate with renowned orchestras including the Orchestre Pasdeloup, the London Chamber Orchestra, and the Orchestre Philharmonique du Maroc. She trained in conducting with Nicolas Brochot in Paris and soon began conducting concertos from the keyboard herself.
In 2019, she was appointed Assistant Conductor of the Orchestre Philharmonique du Maroc, working alongside conductors such as Christian Vásquez, Jean-Claude Casadesus, Hervé Niquet, and Wolfgang Doerner. She has conducted a wide repertoire, ranging from Beethoven’s symphonies to Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, across symphonic, concertante, lyrical, and operatic works. She has also appeared on several French television programs, notably on the national channel France 2, where she conducted a symphony orchestra alongside prominent figures from the music world. At the Dubai World Expo, she was selected to conduct orchestral recordings broadcast during the event.
She has collaborated with artists such as Fayçal Karoui, Marc Coppey, David Guerrier, Abdel Rahman El Bacha, Frank Braley, Emmanuelle Bertrand, Victor Julien-Laferrière, and Raphaëlle Moreau.
Committed to breaking down the barrier between stage and audience, Dina Bensaïd makes her concerts moments of exchange and connection, often presenting them herself. This desire to renew the classical concert format led her to create Concert à la carte, an interactive concept in which the audience actively participates in the performance.
Dina Bensaïd has won First Prizes at numerous international competitions and is the first Moroccan to have been selected to participate in the Queen Elisabeth Music Competition in Belgium.
Since 2016, she has been supported by ADAMI and the Safran Foundation for Culture.
